Remembering 9/11

Makayla Childs, Writer

Over nineteen years ago today, we remember a tragic day in history where over 2,000 people lost their lives. The World Trade Center had over one hundred floors giving people only a few minutes to escape. According to the 9/11 timeline, they only had 1 hour and a few minutes to evacuate the building after being struck by Flight 11. About 25,000 victims were saved, although they couldn’t save all of them. A total of 2,763 people were killed in the collapses of the twin towers including civilians and law enforcement. Today, we remember this day with  much pain in our hearts as we think about all the lives that were lost.
