A quiet night, a bright moon rising over the clouds illuminates the darkness, and a Barred Owl sits motionless in the blue moonlight. slight diffuse glow added to enhance scene. All my own components.

Continuing the bizarre theme of 2020, Halloween will be especially unsettling this October. Whenever two full moons appear in a single month, the second full moon is known as a “Blue Moon.” This unique event only happens every 2 to 3 years. This year is especially rare, as a Halloween Blue Hunter’s Moon will occur on October 31st, just in time for trick or treating and Halloween shenanigans.

Although the moon will not actually appear blue, it will still be quite unusual. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, a Blue Moon on Halloween hasn’t happened since 1944 in all time zones in America. Fortunately, you will not need any special equipment to see this unexpected sight. Enjoy All Hallow’s Eve by the light of the Blue Moon!
