Police have taken a 42-year-old mother into custody for her involvement in vandalizing a house in Friendswood, along with several teenagers.
Early Monday morning, Sarah Michelle Harding was charged with three offenses: giving alcohol to a minor, criminal mischief, and the unlawful carrying of a weapon.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Melodywood Drive following reports from concerned neighbors about several individuals causing damage to properties.
The Friendswood Police Department reported that Harding took a group of 12 teenagers to the location and proceeded to decorate a family’s trees with toilet paper. Additionally, they sprayed shaving cream on the family’s home and car. During the incident, officers detected the scent of alcohol emanating from both Harding and a 16-year-old.
Upon searching Harding’s vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered a “Buzz Ball” alcoholic beverage, as well as vodka and a firearm.
According to the residents of the house being targeted, they are convinced that the recent actions taken against them are a form of retaliation over a disagreement involving Harding’s child and their own. This is not the first time that Harding has orchestrated such actions against their home, as they claim that this has happened on two previous occasions.
After the investigation, the authorities released the teenagers involved into the custody of a responsible and sober adult.
According to investigators, Harding and some of the teenagers who were involved in the incident have ties to other instances of disorderly conduct, as well as the viral “Door Knock” challenge that garnered attention from December 2023 to January 2024.
Back in January, the Friendswood Police Department shared a Facebook post featuring a video recording of several teenagers wearing head coverings. The footage showed them walking up to a house and aggressively kicking and banging on the doors during the late hours of the evening.
According to the records in Galveston County, Harding was convicted in 2019 of a misdemeanor charge of contributing to non-attendance by a parent and was fined.
Currently, she is being held in the Friendswood jail with a bond of $3,000.
