Paul Finebaum criticizes Urban Meyer: ‘He’s the worst of everything imaginable’

This week, the College Football Hall of Fame unveiled the complete ballot for the 2025 class.

Out of the 77 players who were nominated, only nine coaches were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the sport. Among them were Nick Saban and Urban Meyer, who are widely regarded as two of the greatest coaches of their time.

Paul Finebaum, who works with SEC Network and ESPN, believes that the two entities are not in the same league.

When Finebaum was asked on The Opening Kickoff show on 105.5 WNSP-FM in Mobile which coach he would choose if he had to vote for only one, he gave a straightforward answer without any hesitation.

According to Finebaum, comparing the two coaches is a piece of cake. One coach has an impressive record of winning seven national championships and has been an epitome of excellence in all aspects of his career. He is a role model of honesty and integrity. On the other hand, the other coach embodies all that is despicable and unpleasant.

In reference to Meyer, he stated that he lied and misled. Although Meyer has achieved three national championships, it is shameful to even associate him with Nick Saban.

Finebaum believes that despite Meyer’s numerous successes, including winning two titles at Florida and one at Ohio State, he still falls short of being compared to Saban, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches of all time.
