An elderly woman from Alabama successfully completes her bachelor’s degree at the age of 79.

At the remarkable age of 79, Angerline Day accomplished her dream of earning a college degree. Despite having to give up her pursuit of a psychology degree earlier in life due to financial constraints, this Alabama mother persevered and worked hard for four years to finally achieve her goal. She had originally been enrolled in Alabama State University after high school but was unable to continue her post-secondary education at the time.

“I absolutely adore reading,” she exclaimed. “Completing the assignment itself isn’t an issue for me, but the problem is that I have to input it into this computer. How on earth am I supposed to do that?”

Day was feeling frustrated and close to giving up. However, she reminded herself that this was an important opportunity for her and that she needed to persevere. With determination, she thought to herself, “I must do this for myself. This is the last chance. I’m going to make it happen.”

With a sense of contentment, the graduate strode across the stage to accept her diploma last month. Her hope is to inspire those who feel like they are stuck in a dark tunnel or believe that time is running out.

In his own words, Day stated, “I believe that life is precious, and since I am closer to the end, I need to seize every moment I can.”
