According to South Carolina Education Lottery officials, a woman from Midlands was on her way to her dog’s vet appointment when she decided to make a quick stop at the Food Lion store located on North Guignard Drive in Sumter. She purchased a $5 Monopoly scratch-off ticket and was in for a surprise when she scratched it.
Upon revealing the $200,000 prize, the player confessed that she was on the brink of needing medical attention herself.
In a state of pure elation, she exclaimed, “I was so close to passing out! This is the most amazing thing to have happened to me in a while!”
She expressed that the money she won would enable her to live without any debts.
