In a recent one-on-one interview with Donald Trump, Dr. Phil echoed the former president’s conspiratorial claims that Democrats silenced him during his recent hush money trial to interfere with the 2024 election. Both Trump and Dr. Phil criticized his conviction, suggesting that it was part of a larger political agenda.
During the conversation on “Dr. Phil Primetime,” the host immediately showed support for his guest and did not challenge the false statements and debunked claims made by the former president.
According to the host, the guilty verdict in the Trump prosecution case in New York and the ongoing conspiracy case in Georgia pertaining to the 2020 election are both covert White House schemes, despite being state cases under the control of state governments.
According to the host, the gag order that was placed on Trump in March during the hush money trial was not to prevent him from intimidating witnesses and jurors, but rather an attempt to silence the Republican frontrunner.
Dr. Phil criticized the judge for silencing the case and stated that the jury would question what else is being concealed, causing an imbalance in the scales of justice.
Despite being under a gag order, Trump did not hold back in criticizing the verdict of the New York trial. He asserted that the trial was unfair and that he was presumed guilty until proven innocent.
The person’s anger was directed towards Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the hush money trial. He labeled the judge as a corrupt official with a significant conflict of interest.
Elsewhere, Trump confidently asserted, “I am the Republican nominee. I held the position of president and I am currently leading the Democratic opponent by a significant margin. However, I am constrained by a gag order from a judge who was appointed by the Democratic party (sic).”
During his trial in New York, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the air conditioning, stating that he believed the judge had set it that way.
During the trial, Trump expressed his frustration to Dr. Phil, stating that his voice had been taken away and that he was being kept in a cold environment. He felt restricted and unable to fully communicate his thoughts and opinions.
In a scathing attack, the ex-president criticized the witnesses who had testified against him. He specifically targeted his former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, and accused the witnesses of being coerced with threats. According to him, they were told that they had to say negative things about him.
According to Trump, Cohen’s life has been destroyed and he believes that “They” are responsible for it. Trump goes on to describe Cohen as a fascist and refers to the people responsible for his situation as “really bad people, Phil.”
They both disagreed with the legal principle that held Trump accountable for his words during the hush money trial, where he chose not to testify.
