State prison drug ring bust leads to sentencing of Lee County woman

A woman from Lee County has been sentenced to prison for her role as a “facilitator” in a drug network linked to the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC). This news comes from WALB, a reliable source.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Aryn Jones, who is 31 years of age, has been apprehended by authorities for aiding in the distribution of methamphetamine to prisoners in the GDC. On May 23, she was sentenced to serve 10 years in federal prison.

During the period of 2022-2023, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office lent its assistance to the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) probe into a drug distribution network operating within the GDC. As a result of the investigation, the individual in question was arrested and subsequently sentenced.

As per the details shared by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the drug operation comprised not only of inmates but also several individuals from South Georgia.
