Imagine arriving home to discover that your porch has vanished into thin air. This takes the concept of a “Porch Pirate” to a whole new level.
A man in Marion County, Florida, aged 51, was apprehended for trying to steal a porch!
Indeed, we’re talking about the porch itself, not the packages resting on it.

After being taken into custody, Mr. Hill was detained and required to post a bond of $12,000.00.
I can’t help but wonder, has something like this ever occurred in Alabama? This truly seems like an event that could go down in history.
Alabama has once again proven to be full of surprises. One incident in 2013 involved a woman from Opelika who reported that her porch had been stolen. It may sound unbelievable, but an 8-foot by 10-foot wooden porch was taken from her home.

Is this something that happens frequently? Have I been living under a rock and completely missed the fact that porches are being stolen? While I have heard of packages disappearing, the idea of an entire porch being stolen is new to me.
Yes, this bizarre phenomenon does occur in reality. A resident from Detroit was left stunned when he stepped out of his home and tumbled five feet down because his entire brick stoop and stairs had vanished overnight. It’s astonishing to note that numerous incidents of this nature have been reported online.
Dear fellow Alabamians, it’s important to be cautious when leaving your home in the morning, as you may fall prey to a real “Porch Pirate”.
