White Woman Calls Security on Black Colleague Using Public Bathroom, Tells Her ‘You Sound Stupid,’ Video Shows

With almost 700,000 views on TikTok, a video depicts a white woman questioning a Black woman’s use of a public bathroom in their shared workplace, ultimately resulting in a call to security.

@top_cat716 , a Black woman on TikTok, recently shared a video of an encounter she had at a law firm in Buffalo, New York.

As she exited the communal bathroom, she took a video of herself walking into the hallway. A white woman was seen waiting for her in the same area.

The white woman inquired, “Who do you report to? I want to call the law firm.”

According to reports, the two women work on separate floors within the same building. The woman of color inquired as to why she was not allowed to use the restroom located on the floor where the white woman worked.

The response from the white woman was straightforward and direct. She stated that it was necessary for the individual to remain within the confines of their designated bathroom on their respective floor.

Top_cat716 questioned, “What is the reason for me to remain confined to my floor?”

The white woman asked, “Why wouldn’t you stay on your floor?”

@top_cat716 was specifically instructed by her not to use the bathroom on their floor, as mentioned by the speaker.

@top_cat716 confidently asserts that they are allowed to use any bathroom they prefer at their workplace, as it is the law firm where they are employed.

@top_cat716 quickly retorts, “You sound silly. I am an employee here. Please contact security.”

Most of the individuals who commented on @top_cat716’s post were supportive of her decision to continue using the restroom.

One individual shared that they used to frequent the restroom on that particular floor on a daily basis.

Someone else inquired, “What’s with her being in charge of the bathroom?”

It’s a common sight on social media and in the news to come across incidents where a white person is seen policing a Black person without any valid reason. These cases have been given the moniker of “Karen” to highlight the behavior of white women who harass Black people, falsely accuse them of trivial or fabricated offenses and then call the police. One such incident that brought “Karens” to the limelight was when a white woman called the police on two Black men in 2018 for using a charcoal grill at a public park.
