In February, a man from Indianapolis reportedly attacked another man with a baseball bat, and he is now facing fresh charges of attempted murder.
After his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Corey Reed, 39, in a parking lot outside an east side liquor store in March, Curtis Page Junior was arrested and served time in jail. However, he is now facing additional felony charges, which include:

- Aggravated battery use when the assault poses a substantial risk of death, level 3 felony
On February 9th, at approximately 6:22 p.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call reporting a man who had suffered a potential head injury and broken jaw. Court documents reveal that the incident occurred at the intersection of E. 28 Street and N. Dearborn Street.
Upon arrival, the victim appeared to be in a bewildered state and was incapable of responding to any inquiries. The officers promptly called for Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services, who transported the victim to Methodist Hospital for medical attention and further assessment, according to court records.
During the incident, a witness reported to the officers that they saw Page, who was later identified by the police, running after another male on N. Dearborn Street while carrying a baseball bat.
According to court documents, multiple witnesses came forward and provided similar testimonies regarding the events leading up to the baseball bat attack. Police were able to gather information from these witnesses to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to court documents, authorities found a baseball bat, a bundle of children’s clothing that contained a pair of headphones, and several tobacco products near the area where the victim was initially discovered at the intersection of E. 28th Street and N. Dearborn Street. The items were located next to a bloody spot and were collected by officers as evidence.
Medical professionals informed the authorities of the victim’s injuries, which included several fractures to the jaw and skull, and a potential brain bleed.
By tracing cell phone data and cross-examining it with a white pickup truck reportedly belonging to Page Junior, investigators were able to connect the crime to Page. They also utilized an online reverse cell phone number look-up tool in their investigation.
To map out the phone calls and text messages supposedly sent by Page during the incident, the investigators utilized this information to acquire a search warrant from T-Mobile. This allowed for a more precise and accurate tracking of the communications within the specific time and date.
In a subsequent interview with investigators, the victim identified Page as the perpetrator of the assault. As per court records, the victim stated that they had been acquainted with Page for a couple of years and had spent roughly four hours with him on the day of the incident. The victim further alleged that Page was under the influence of formaldehyde and marijuana at the time of the attack.
Online court records indicate that Page has a surety bond of $150,000 set. However, there is no further information available regarding the potential trial date for the charge of attempted murder.
Page has an upcoming jury trial on August 12th at 8:30 a.m. for a murder charge that is unrelated to the current situation.
