Police arrest bouncer in Bourbon St. shooting

On Sunday night, the New Orleans Police Department took a 30-year-old man into custody in relation to two shooting incidents that occurred on Bourbon Street.

In connection with the shooting of two persons, Shaquille Henderson was charged by police with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and several gun offenses.

According to WWL-TV reports, Henderson was employed by a nearby bar as a bouncer. Henderson allegedly pushed the two guys outside into the 600 block of Bourbon after the pub closed, sparking a brawl.

“The suspect reportedly shot both victims during the dispute,” police stated. “Responding Eighth District officers quickly took the suspect into custody.”

EMS from New Orleans transported the two victims to University Medical Center.
