Authorities in Louisiana say a woman shot and murdered her husband and an 8-year-old before turning the pistol on herself.
The deadly shooting, according to investigators, took place at a house late on Friday night or early on Saturday morning.
According to reports, when a family member was experiencing problems contacting the couple, authorities were notified of the situation.
The bodies were found early on Monday. The husband was recognized by deputies as Steven Williamson and the wife as Jenny Williamson. They were both 49 years old.
According to the sheriff, the child lived in the house where the purported murder and suicide occurred.
According to deputies, the alleged murder/suicide was not an isolated incident, and the problem has been contained.
