Galveston Police seek details on fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian

Galveston officials are seeking additional details on a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian the previous week.

At the intersection of 36th Street and Avenue J, the Galveston Police Department reported an incident that occurred just before 2 a.m. on June 26.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a pedestrian with injuries, however, the vehicle responsible for the incident had fled the scene.

Sadly, the pedestrian was transported to the hospital but was later declared deceased.

Authorities are currently investigating to determine the identity of the driver involved, according to police reports.
