During the night in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood, a teenager was shot.
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, a teenager arrived at the hospital on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, with a gunshot wound to his chest. The 17-year-old was injured in the shooting that took place along the 1800 block of East Lippincott Street.
Small reported that evidence indicated a solitary gunshot had been discharged on Lippincott Street, according to investigators.
According to the police, the details surrounding the shooting and the mode of transportation used by the teenager to reach the hospital are currently unknown.
Small stated that the investigators were hopeful of obtaining surveillance footage to aid them in their search for the shooter.
In addition to the shooting of the 15-year-old, another teenager was shot in Philadelphia overnight. Reports indicate that an 18-year-old was shot on North Randolph Street in North Philadelphia. Fortunately, the victim is currently in stable condition and receiving medical treatment. These incidents highlight the ongoing issue of gun violence among young people in the city.
