Authorities are searching for the perpetrator of a shooting that resulted in the tragic loss of an employee at a smoke shop in North Miami Beach during a robbery.
On June 11, there was an armed robbery at Miami Cloudz Smoke Shop located on Northeast 163rd Street near 20th Avenue.
As captured on surveillance footage, four men were standing at the counter of the shop when suddenly one of them brandished a gun, aimed it at Salem Albakri, who is 35 years old, and instructed him to stay still.
As soon as the shooter fires a single shot, Albakri sprints towards the back of the store along with the other three men, attempting to escape the danger.
Upon arriving at the location, law enforcement discovered Albakri with a gunshot injury. Regrettably, he passed away on-site.
According to the police, Albakri was shot during an armed robbery that turned violent.
As soon as the news broke, it quickly spread throughout the entire shopping plaza where the shop is located, causing panic and concern among the patrons. Virginia Frell, whose son works in a gaming business just two doors down, was especially frightened when she heard the news.
Frell expressed his dedication by stating, “I’m here every day, every day.”
Frell is confident that someone will be able to identify the people shown in the footage.Frell stated that taking someone’s life from behind is a cowardly act.
