Overnight Shootings in Indianapolis Leave Three People Injured within an Hour

Early Friday morning, Indianapolis police had to respond to three separate shootings within a span of only 45 minutes.

According to Tommy Thompson, the Public Information Officer of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, one person sustained injuries in each of the shootings. Fortunately, all three victims are reported to be in stable condition at local hospitals.

According to investigators, the three shootings are not believed to be related.

3 a.m.: Canal Walk shooting

At around 3 a.m., the Canal Walk at West Michigan Street and Indiana Avenue was the site of the first shooting. According to IMPD, the victim was conscious and breathing.

As of now, there are no suspects identified by the investigators and no arrests have been made in relation to the case.

3:15 a.m.: Shooting on near east side

At approximately 3:15 a.m., officers from the IMPD discovered an individual who had been shot in the 500 block of North Oakland Avenue. The location is situated in a residential neighborhood near the crossroads of Michigan and Rural Streets, which is on the near east side of the city.

Police have not yet shared any information regarding the suspects and no arrests have been made as of yet.

3:45 a.m.: Person shot near North Arlington Avenue

IMPD officers rushed to the 6000 block of Windsor Drive following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual who had sustained gunshot wounds. The incident occurred in a residential vicinity close to the intersection of 21st Street and Arlington Avenue.

As of now, the police have not disclosed any details about the suspect and no arrests have been made.
