A violent incident occurred late on Thursday night in a residential area of Huntington Beach. According to witnesses, a man alighted from his car and began stabbing people who were celebrating the July 4th holiday.
Police reported that two individuals sustained fatal injuries, while at least three others were admitted to the hospital for treatment. At around 11 p.m., a tumultuous scene erupted at the intersection of 16th Street and Pecan Avenue. A sizeable assemblage of loved ones and companions had congregated there to enjoy a fireworks display.
Upon arrival, emergency responders pronounced two victims deceased at the scene. Additionally, three individuals were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries that are not life-threatening.
According to reports, the Huntington Beach Fire Department reported that six individuals were stabbed.
Authorities have reported that a stabbing incident occurred, resulting in one individual being taken into police custody. The identity of the person in custody has not been disclosed at this time, and the motive behind the stabbing is currently being investigated.
