A shooting incident that occurred on Friday afternoon at a shopping center in Miami-Dade has resulted in the death of one man and left two others injured.
In the afternoon at around 1:09 p.m., Miami-Dade Police received a call regarding shots fired in the 7300 block of Northwest 36th Street near Doral. Upon arrival, the officers discovered three men who had been shot. Sadly, one of them lost their life on the scene, while the remaining two were immediately transported to the hospital as per MDPD Det. Andre Martin.
It is unclear what the current conditions of the two men are, as one was transported to the hospital via air and the other through ground transportation.
According to Martin, the police have apprehended five men and are currently interrogating them. Although the shooting has not been verified, he did confirm that the commotion was an outcome of a physical altercation that originated from a disagreement at the back of the shopping center. The situation was confined to the area, and there is no need for the public to worry. The individuals who the authorities later detained were also in a white SUV that had stopped at the scene. Martin characterized the scene as chaotic but assured that it was an isolated incident.
Martin expressed that the situation had the potential to be highly dangerous.
It is currently unclear what the connection is between the individuals who were detained and those who were injured or killed.
According to Martin, businesses are permitted to operate despite the temporary blockage of the NW 36th Street due to the ongoing investigation of the shopping center.
According to Martin, the Homicide Bureau of MDPD is currently investigating the incident. It has been revealed that the authorities recovered at least two firearms from the scene. However, further details regarding the shooting are still being looked into.
