According to GasBuddy’s latest report, gas prices in Iowa have decreased by 1.6 cents in the past week, bringing the state average down to $3.27 per gallon.

A recent survey conducted on 2,036 stations in Iowa revealed that gasoline prices have increased by 10.2 cents per gallon in the past month. However, prices are still 5.2 cents lower per gallon compared to the prices from a year ago.

The cost of diesel fuel has surged nationwide, with the average price per gallon now standing at $3.81.

Gas prices in Iowa vary greatly, with rates ranging from $2.87 to $4.11 per gallon. The lowest-priced station in Iowa currently offers gas at $2.87 per gallon, while the most expensive station sells gas at $4.11 per gallon.

Gasoline prices have remained steady over the past week, with the national average price remaining constant at $3.46 per gallon.

“The price of gasoline across the nation has slightly increased in the past week due to the surge in oil prices, which have reached multi-month highs. Although there seems to be some control over this recent hike, there is still a possibility for gasoline prices to be affected by the hurricane season in the coming weeks,” stated Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “As of now, we can expect some fluctuations in gasoline prices, but as August approaches, and we move towards the peak of hurricane season, there is a chance that we may experience a temporary surge in gasoline prices if a severe storm hits us at the wrong place.”
