Wisconsin Man Dies in Crash After Fleeing Police, Colliding with SUV in Illinois

According to reports, a man from southern Wisconsin lost his life after attempting to evade police in Wisconsin and colliding with an SUV in Illinois. The incident took place in Newport.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office  in Illinois reported a crash with injuries on July 6 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered two vehicles with significant damage.

According to initial reports, the driver of a stolen vehicle in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin was a 32-year-old man from Salem. The police in Pleasant Prairie discovered the stolen vehicle and attempted to halt the driver.

According to reports, the driver purportedly fled at a high speed, but law enforcement successfully deployed a tire-deflating device. Despite one of the vehicle’s tires being deflated, the driver continued to evade authorities at a high speed.

According to reports, even after the police stopped chasing them, the driver continued to drive in a reckless and excessively fast manner.

According to officials, the GMC Yukon collided with a stolen vehicle whose driver disregarded a red light. Tragically, the driver of the stolen vehicle lost their life in the incident.

According to the statement, a hospital received a critically injured passenger of the Yukon who is 51 years old. Although the driver and six rear passengers of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the police, an autopsy of the driver is allegedly planned. The driver of the stolen vehicle had a revoked driver’s license and an active arrest warrant for possessing methamphetamine and was a suspect in several burglaries.

Currently, the investigation of the crash is ongoing and no further details have been disclosed.
