Breaking News: 16 Felony Charges Result in Arrest of Portage Resident

Jeffery D. Chapell Jr., 41, of Portage, has been apprehended on 16 felony charges and three misdemeanors, as per the announcement made by the Portage Police Department on Thursday.

The PPD made a significant breakthrough on Tuesday as its officers carried out several search warrants at an apartment complex in Portage. The search yielded a substantial amount of different illegal drugs, valued at over $375,000, which were promptly confiscated by the PPD.

According to the PPD, Chapell was later arrested and is now facing 16 federal charges for possessing cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, LSD, narcotics, and marijuana. Additionally, Chapell is also being charged with maintaining a drug trafficking place, reckless endangerment, and child neglect.

According to the PPD, Chapell faces charges of three misdemeanors related to drug paraphernalia, domestic battery, and domestic disorderly conduct.
