On Saturday evening, authorities apprehended a woman who was being sought for homicide in Berrien County. She is now in custody.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office officials reported the detention of a 48-year-old individual from northwest Indiana. The arrest took place at around 8:20 p.m. on North Thompson Street in New Buffalo.
According to officials, the discovery of the woman was made possible after she drove past a license plate reader.
State departments have been actively acquiring readers that have the ability to immediately alert authorities when a stolen vehicle or a wanted individual is detected.
There is currently no additional information available about the woman who was arrested or the alleged crime for which she was taken into custody.
