Louisiana State Police requests information regarding a deadly hit-and-run accident

Louisiana State Police are currently seeking information about a hit-and-run crash that tragically took the life of a 41-year-old Rayne resident. The incident occurred in Acadia Parish and has prompted authorities to request the public’s assistance in identifying the responsible party. KLFY reports on the investigation and seeks to bring justice to the victim’s loved ones.

According to the State police, an unknown vehicle hit Ryan Trahan while he was walking in the westbound lane of Highway 90 around 6 a.m. on Sunday. The accident happened because Trahan was walking in the opposite direction of the traffic. The vehicle involved did not stop and fled the scene by driving towards the west.

Sadly, Trahan suffered severe injuries and was declared deceased at the crash site.

Louisiana State Police Troop I at 337-262-5800 is encouraging anyone with information regarding the vehicle involved in the crash to come forward as the investigation continues.

According to state police, it is imperative to practice pedestrian safety when walking near or crossing roadways.
