Designer of prom dresses in Chicago accused of theft, apprehended for failure to deliver dresses

A prom dress designer from Chicago has been charged with felony theft for allegedly failing to deliver dresses to teenage girls.

The I-Team was informed by the Chicago police that they had been conducting an investigation into Fatoumata “Binta” Diallo.

After her arrest, Diallo appeared in court for the first time on Monday.

According to the I-Team, Diallo received hundreds of dollars from both teenagers and their parents to create their prom dresses. However, they claim that she failed to follow through on her end of the deal, resulting in disappointed customers who never received their promised dresses.

Diallo was taken into custody by the Chicago police, but she has been released under pre-trial conditions.

During a phone interview with ABC7 Chicago, Diallo declined to provide a statement. The mothers have expressed their desire for a refund and nothing more.

If you have a complaint regarding Diallo, CPD urges you to get in touch with Area Three detectives at 312-744-8263.

Her court appearance is scheduled for August 9th.
