Wrigley Field Monday concert starts earlier due to possible severe weather conditions

Severe weather threats in Chicagoland have prompted organizers to push up the start time of a concert scheduled to take place at Wrigley Field on Monday night by an hour.

According to the Chicago OEMC, the much-anticipated performance of Def Leppard, Journey, and the Steve Miller Band in Chicago was originally scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. However, a round of storms that pose a severe weather threat to Chicagoland has caused a change in plans. As a result, the show will now commence at 4:30 p.m. Fans should take note of this new schedule to ensure they don’t miss out on the electrifying performances.

The National Weather Service has released its latest warnings and watches.

The OEMC has released the schedule for the upcoming concert. The Steve Miller Band will kick off the event with a 30-minute set at 4:30 p.m. Following them, Journey will take the stage at 5:30 p.m., and Def Leppard will begin their set at 7:15 p.m. Fans can expect an exciting evening filled with amazing performances from these iconic bands.

Just before 3 p.m. on Monday, Deen Castronovo, the drummer of Journey, took to X to share the amended schedule.

According to weather forecasts, a series of storms will pass through Chicagoland on Monday, spanning from the northwest to the southeast. The storms are anticipated to occur between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m.

These storms have the potential to bring destructive winds, as well as 1 to 2 inches of rain and even possible tornadoes in the affected areas.

Just one day after powerful winds and heavy rain wreaked havoc on parts of Chicagoland, another round of storms has arrived.

On Sunday, Chicagoland experienced the impact of three EF-0 tornadoes, as confirmed by the NWS.
