Later this afternoon and tomorrow, the conditions on Lake Michigan are anticipated to become rougher.
The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazards statement for LaPorte County and Berrien County, Michigan, as waves are anticipated to rise up to three to six feet in height.
The advisory will be active from 4 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Thursday.
During the advisory period, it is recommended that individuals avoid swimming in Lake Michigan due to the presence of rip currents. These powerful currents have the ability to pull swimmers into deeper waters, making it dangerous for them to navigate through the lake. Therefore, it is important for people to take caution and adhere to the advisory to ensure their safety while near the lake.
