Teen accused of stealing Trump campaign team SUV from Pfister Hotel

On Saturday, law enforcement arrested and charged a 17-year-old with the theft of a Chevy Tahoe that belonged to the advance team of former President Donald Trump’s campaign.

After the theft of his vehicle a day earlier, Trump arrived in Milwaukee for the 2024 Republican National Convention on Sunday.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Criminal Court, the Pfister Hotel incident occurred around 4 a.m. The complaint charges the teen with a felony for operating a motor vehicle without consent and a misdemeanor for criminal damage to property.

According to the complaint, the teenager is accused of unlawfully accessing a valet lockbox at the Pfister Hotel located on East Wisconsin Avenue.

According to the complaint, the teenager drove the car through the parking gate at the Mason Street exit. As per a security guard’s statement to the police, he tried to open the door handle of the car as the teen drove by, but it was locked.

The authorities were able to locate the vehicle at the Walmart situated at 6300 Brown Deer Road, thanks to the utilization of GPS. It resulted in the detention of the teenager who was apprehended inside the store.

Upon his arrest, law enforcement officials discovered not only the key to the Tahoe, but also a number of other keys in his possession.

According to the teen’s statement, he was searching for a power outlet in the Pfister when he stumbled upon a locked cabinet. Driven by curiosity, he eventually broke into the cabinet.

According to the website of the Milwaukee County Sheriff, he is currently held on a bail of $2,000 at the Milwaukee County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon. His preliminary hearing is set for July 23.

Since the individual involved is a minor, The Journal Sentinel has chosen not to reveal their name.
