Swing Voters in Wisconsin Evaluate Trump’s RNC Speech on CNN, Praising His Pleasant Tone and Offering High Marks

On CNN Friday, a group of Wisconsin voters who are open to voting for either the Democratic Party’s nominee or former President Donald Trump evaluated his historically long speech at the Republican National Convention.

After the one hour and 32-minute speech that received negative reviews from the media and reportedly caused some GOP loyalists to doze off, most individuals still gave Trump positive ratings. This occurred Thursday night in Milwaukee.

In his speech, Trump addressed several pressing issues affecting the nation, but contrary to expectations, he did not adopt a different tone. He criticized President Joe Biden and Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), deviating from the planned script and causing many to perceive his speech as meandering after the first 40 minutes.

According to CNN’s Chris Wallace, the presidential campaign is back on track. In fact, Wallace was so unimpressed that he declared, “We have ourselves a presidential campaign again.”

During an interview with CNN’s national correspondent, Gary Tuchman, in Waukesha, some of the 13 voters (11 of them undecided) expressed their belief in Trump’s promised new “tone.” This comes five days after Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

When CNN’s Gary Tuchman interviewed 13 swing state voters in Wisconsin, they were asked to grade President Trump’s performance on a scale of A to F. Out of the 13 voters, two gave Trump an A, five gave him a B, four graded him with a C, and two offered a D.

According to CNN, a woman who graded the speech an A expressed her thoughts, stating that she was seeking a change and felt that the President’s voice conveyed just that. She further added that his emphasis on bringing unity in the country, along with his views on border control and inflation, caught her attention.

A female voter who rated Trump with a B expressed her expectation for him to be negative towards women but was pleasantly surprised that he did not.

She expressed that she found his tone pleasant and felt proud to have him as a leader with his relaxed tone.

A woman had offered Trump a grade of C, citing his failure to change his rhetoric on the claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him as the reason.

According to a man who gave the speech a D, it began impressively but quickly derailed into falsehoods, grievances, and personal attacks, ultimately contradicting itself.

Tuchman managed to sway four of the undecided voters with Trump’s speech, who now confirmed their support for him in the upcoming November election.

During Tuchman’s gathering of 13 voters, two individuals had already made their decision prior to the speech. One of them committed to supporting Trump while the other pledged to vote for Biden.
