Argument outside South Side Walmart leads to man being critically injured in shooting

On Friday afternoon, a shooting occurred after a fight outside of a Walmart on the South Side of Chicago, leaving a man critically injured.

Chicago police reported that the events took place at a Walmart parking lot in Pullman at around 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon, specifically on the 10900 block of South Doty Avenue.

According to officials, a physical altercation ensued between a 25-year-old man and an unidentified individual who then proceeded to discharge a firearm.

A man who is 25 years old has been critically injured after sustaining gunshot wounds to both his chest and hip. He has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities have reported that there have been no arrests made and the events leading up to the altercation remain unclear.

Currently, authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., authorities were seen conducting an investigation at the scene, which was captured by SkyCam9. A vehicle in the parking lot was surrounded by caution tape during the investigation.
