According to recent reports, Vice President Kamala Harris has gained the support of the majority of Wisconsin’s delegates, with 89 out of 95 of them pledging their allegiance to her following President Joe Biden’s decision to exit the race.
According to Ben Wikler, the chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, Harris is the perfect choice for the position.
According to him, the delegates are filled with enthusiasm and united in their efforts to support the Vice President’s campaign for presidency.
Ben Wikler announced with excitement that Kamala Harris has received an official endorsement for President of the United States from the democratic party of Wisconsin’s governing body, with a unanimous vote.
According to Wikler, Harris has gained the support of most of the state’s delegates, indicating a significant shift in the presidential election.
According to Wikler, the decision to attend the convention in person or virtually is a matter of personal choice for each delegate.
According to Richard Haven, a longtime political analyst for WMTV and emeritus professor at UW-Whitewater, securing the necessary support would be the key for Harris to advance her campaign.
Haven stated that the focal point will shift towards who the potential running mate for her would be.
Henry Fries, a Wisconsin District Level Delegate, is set to attend the Democratic National Convention in just four weeks.
“He hasn’t personally vetted Kamala Harris himself, but he trusts Biden’s judgment,” he said. “He believes that she is a very strong force and will be an excellent choice to lead our country forward.”
According to the 18-year-old delegate, the endorsement of Harris by Biden has generated a sense of enthusiasm among young voters.
Fries expressed her admiration for the youth engagement that will now take place with a younger person involved in the election. She finds it exhilarating to witness more people showing interest in the upcoming election.
According to Wikler, the party has experienced a surge in online fundraising ever since Biden withdrew from the race. In fact, Harris managed to raise a whopping $81 million within the first 24 hours of her campaign. Moreover, some of the delegates are currently in the process of determining a timeline for endorsing Harris publicly.
