Chicago sues two suburban gun shops, accusing them of contributing to crime

The City of Chicago has filed a lawsuit against two gun shops located in the suburbs, alleging that they have played a role in the rise of crime in the city. CBS reports that the lawsuit aims to hold the gun shops accountable for their contribution to the illegal gun market in Chicago.

The lawsuit has been recently updated to include Eagle Sports Range in Oak Forest and Midwest Sporting Goods in Lyons as defendants, alongside the parent company of Glock Handguns in Austria.

Chicago officials have accused both the gunmaker and local dealers of putting the lives of residents at risk. According to the allegations, Glock handguns, which are being sold and marketed, can be easily converted into fully automatic weapons.

According to the lawsuit, the two suburban dealers have been identified as the primary suppliers of firearms used in criminal activities in Chicago.
