Identity of 46-year-old man killed in north Minneapolis revealed

46-year-old TaVaughn LaMarr Combs has been identified as the victim of the homicide that took place in Minneapolis on Friday.

At around 7:40 a.m., the Minneapolis Police Department received a call and arrived at the 2100 block of Thomas Ave North to find Combs deceased. It was later discovered that a ShotSpotter had been activated in the area of 21st Ave North and Uptown Ave North five hours prior to the discovery of the body.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, a gunshot wound to the torso was the cause of his death.
