Authorities have confirmed that two bodies were discovered by officers investigating an odor at a Shakopee apartment complex on Monday morning.
Officers responding to an odor complaint discovered two individuals at the River Ridge Apartment complex around 11 a.m. The identities of the individuals have not been disclosed yet.
On Tuesday, apartment residents of Riva Ridge received a letter from Shakopee Police Chief Jeff Tate reassuring them that there is no danger to their community. Although the cause of death has not been released, Chief Tate emphasized the safety of the residents and the community.

Assistance with the investigation was provided by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigators on Monday.
Tate confirmed that the investigation is underway and currently no suspects are being pursued.
Tate expressed gratitude for the patience shown by the community the previous day. He acknowledged that a significant police presence can often cause concern, but emphasized that there was no danger to the community in relation to the incident at hand.
The medical examiner is anticipated to provide additional information regarding the autopsy findings at a later time.
