Public reaction on social media to Trump’s strange comments about a fly on stage: ‘This is not normal’

During a rally speech, Former President Donald Trump expressed his frustration when a fly approached his lectern, creating a bizarre moment.

While delivering a speech in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, President Trump briefly diverted his attention from his point about a hat when he noticed a curious creature on stage.

“Oh, look, there’s a fly,” exclaimed the former president. “I wonder where it came from?”

A member of the audience eagerly shouted, “Kamala!”

During his speech, Trump expressed, “See, two years ago, I wouldn’t have had a fly up here. You’re changing rapidly. We can’t take it any longer.” It remains uncertain who or what the president was alluding to before he shifted the topic.

The internet swiftly responded to Trump’s unexpected outburst, prompting MSNBC host and legal analyst Katie Phang to express her concern, stating that “this behavior is far from normal.”

According to American Bridge 21st Century, a Republican accountability group, they claimed that Trump appears exhausted and is having difficulty maintaining focus. They provided an anecdote where he begins telling a story about a hat but gets distracted by a fly and never completes it. Furthermore, they mentioned that he starts a completely different story and has trouble with the word “unique.”

During his 2020 debate with Kamala Harris, many people drew a comparison between Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence. This was after a fly landed on Pence’s head and stayed there for almost two minutes.

During his speech, Trump once again intensified his criticism of Harris, referring to her as “mentally disabled” and “mentally impaired.” Harris had recently visited the US-Mexico border, and a significant portion of Trump’s speech targeted the issue of illegal migrants entering the country.

He kept pointing fingers at Harris and President Joe Biden, attributing the surge of migrants entering the country to their actions.

He even went so far as to suggest that some of these individuals had malicious intentions to harm the people of the United States, using words like “rape, pillage, thieve, plunder, and kill.”

However, a study conducted in 2024 by Northwestern University revealed that immigrants have never been incarcerated at a higher rate than those born in the United States over a period of 150 years.

During her press conference at the border, Harris made a commitment to address the nation’s immigration system, which she believes is in need of repair. She also criticized the former president for exacerbating feelings of fear and division.
