Unfortunately, there is no cure for this condition, so Adeline has to take extra precautions to protect herself. She was diagnosed with this condition when she was just 18 months old, and according to her parents, she makes it very clear that she despises the disease. Adeline’s mother, Megan Dunn, shared her thoughts, saying:
It’s very isolating for her. She makes it well known to us that she hates the disease. … She wants to be normal, and she wants to go outside and play like the other kids.

Participating in activities like field trips, daytime sports games, or beach vacations is not an option for her. However, her family shares that she experienced sheer joy when her brother had a nighttime soccer game, as she was able to be there.
In order to compensate for her limited exposure to sunlight, she is taking vitamin D supplements. While there is a possibility that she may undergo a bone marrow transplant in the future to assist her, doctors are currently not advising it.
