Former President Trump is currently hosting a campaign rally in the crucial battleground state of Wisconsin on Saturday. With less than six weeks remaining until Election Day, the competition for the White House is still neck and neck.
The event in Prairie du Chien, Wis., which was originally planned to be held outdoors, was moved indoors due to concerns regarding Secret Service staffing.
This decision was made in light of two recent assassination attempts targeting the former president. One occurred at his golf course in Florida earlier this month, while the other took place at a rally in Pennsylvania in July, resulting in a bullet grazing his ear.
Recent polling suggests that the race between Trump and Vice President Harris in the Badger State is closely contested.
According to a new survey conducted by The New York Times/Siena, Harris currently holds a slim lead of 2 points, with 49 percent support compared to the former president’s 47 percent.
However, it’s important to note that this lead falls within the margin of error, indicating a highly competitive race.
According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index, Harris is leading in the critical swing state with 49.8 percent support, while Trump trails behind with 47.8 percent.
The speech is set to commence at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
