Kamala Harris: A Candidate Chosen by the Ayatollahs?

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) accused Vice President Harris of being “the ayatollahs’ handpicked candidate” during a recent interview on Sunday morning.

“Right from the start, Harris and President Biden have been trying to please and pacify the ayatollahs,” Cotton remarked during his interview with Robert Costa on CBS News’s “Face the Nation.” He went on to mention Harris’s opposition to Donald Trump’s strike that eliminated Iran’s terrorist leader in 2020, stating, “They have been giving away billions of dollars in sanctions relief over the past four years.”

“They have turned a blind eye to Iran’s violations of sanctions,” Cotton argued. “Instead of pressuring Iran’s terrorist proxy, they have consistently exerted more pressure on Israel. This is precisely why Kamala Harris is the preferred choice of the ayatollahs, and it also explains their attempts to hack into Donald Trump’s campaign and harm him.”

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which receives support from Iran, Cotton’s remarks hold significance. On Saturday, Hezbollah acknowledged the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, resulting from an Israeli strike on Friday.

In a speech shared by the Lebanese state-run National News Agency, the supreme leader of Iran, Sayyid Ali Khamenei, expressed his view that Israel had not caused any significant harm to the strong structure of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

In a statement, Steven Cheung, a Trump campaign spokesperson, revealed that President Trump had received a briefing from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The briefing included information about concrete and credible threats from Iran. These threats were aimed at assassinating President Trump, with the intention of causing instability and chaos within the United States.

I have reached out to the Harris campaign, the vice president’s office, and the White House for comment.
