A man from Wisconsin, who is facing charges of sexually assaulting a child, was located in North Carolina with the girl he allegedly assaulted. He was apprehended after failing to appear in court.
In August, Colin O’Brion, a 19-year-old, was charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting the same child, as stated by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. He was granted a $2,500 cash bond and was instructed to refrain from any contact with the victim.
According to authorities, O’Brion was supposed to appear in court on September 27. However, he failed to show up, and as a result, a warrant for his arrest was issued nationwide.
Authorities were informed that the juvenile girl, whom O’Brion had been prohibited from contacting, was reportedly missing after running away.
During the investigation, it was discovered that O’Brion had fled from Wisconsin. On October 1st, O’Brion was allegedly located in North Carolina in the company of the girl he was prohibited from contacting.
O’Brion is currently in custody, awaiting court proceedings for the Columbia County warrant, according to the police. They are actively working on reuniting the girl with her family in Wisconsin.
A Chicago man was discovered with over three pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on I-41 in Fond du Lac County.
The investigation is currently in progress, and there is a possibility of additional charges being filed, as stated in the release. Unfortunately, no further details have been provided at this time.
