Trump uses Wisconsin speech to connect Harris with illegal immigration, highlighting his grievances

A day after Harris addressed immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border, Trump addressed a crowd in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, focusing on the topic of immigration. He attributed the occurrence of crimes committed by migrants who entered the U.S. illegally to Harris, accusing her of “erasing our border.”

“I will free Wisconsin from the overwhelming influx of migrants,” he declared confidently. “Our mission is to liberate the entire nation.”

Trump’s rapid transitions between topics made it challenging to decipher his intentions at times. He discussed the two assassination attempts against him, holding the U.S. Secret Service accountable for not organizing a large outdoor rally instead of an indoor event.

Amidst all this, he also made casual remarks about climate change, Kamala Harris’ father, his superior beach body compared to President Joe Biden’s, and even a pesky fly buzzing around him.

Trump expressed his frustration by stating, “I had to sit there and listen” to Harris last night, which garnered cheers from the audience. He criticized Fox News for airing the event, emphasizing that they should not have been given the platform. Trump firmly believed that Harris’s remarks were filled with falsehoods, labeling everything she said as lies.

Trump claimed he didn’t comprehend Harris’ accusation that he was accountable for separating children from their parents. During his administration, border agents implemented a policy at the U.S.-Mexico border that provoked widespread condemnation for its inhumane treatment, which Trump ultimately terminated due to pressure from his own party.

According to her, Donald Trump’s approach is nothing new or innovative. She described it as the same old tired show, with a playbook that has been repeated for years.

On both sides of the stage at Trump’s event, there were large mug shots of men accused of crimes who were in the U.S. illegally. One of the cases Trump mentioned in his speech was that of Alejandro Jose Coronel Zarate.

According to Police Chief Kyle Teynor’s Facebook posts, Coronel Zarate, who is not a U.S. citizen, was found to possess two counterfeit immigration documents, including a fake Social Security card. Chief Teynor also pointed out that Coronel Zarate’s tattoos are indicative of his affiliation with the Tren de Aragua gang, which originated in Venezuelan prisons and is now becoming an escalating menace in the United States.

U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, a Republican hailing from Prairie du Chien, has expressed his criticism towards the authorities in Minneapolis and Madison, accusing them of allowing Coronel Zarate to go free and subsequently harm the woman in Prairie du Chien. Van Orden, along with others, has condemned both jurisdictions for their perceived leniency towards individuals residing in the country illegally.

“He’s the kind of person who has the strength and unwavering belief to confront anyone, even at the risk of getting shot in the head,” he explained.
