Convicted Trump Supporter Claims Inability to Serve Prison Time Due to Unavailability of Customized Mattress

On Thursday, Tina Peters, a Republican official, was found guilty of several charges, including conspiracy and official misconduct. These charges were related to her involvement in the attempts to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.

During her sentencing, Peters implored District Judge Matthew Barrett to reconsider his ruling, highlighting her need for special sleeping arrangements due to her injuries. She also emphasized that she is a “child of God.”

According to journalist Ron Filipkowski, Peters told the judge that he has been in need of a magnetic mattress since 1995 and that he refuses to have anything less than that at the Department of Corrections.

Barrett described the defendant as one of the most defiant individuals ever witnessed in court.

Peters was promptly arrested and taken to the Mesa County Detention Center. She has the option to appeal her sentence within 21 days.
