Harris campaign to be supported by Pelosi and tech executives at upcoming fundraiser

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California, is set to team up with tech executives this Saturday to host a fundraising event for Vice President Harris. This information was confirmed by a reliable source to The Hill.

The “Little Tech for Harris” event in San Francisco at 6:30 p.m. local time will be hosted by Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan, Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman, and Aaron Levie, the CEO of Box. Nancy Pelosi, the headliner of the event, will be in attendance.

Nancy Pelosi, the former House leader, is no stranger to hosting events. In fact, she recently held a reception in San Francisco in August, alongside the Democratic nominee, which managed to raise an impressive $12 million in support of the vice president.

It’s worth noting that Kamala Harris’s campaign has been incredibly successful in terms of fundraising, as they recently announced that they raised an astounding $361 million in the month of August.

Since President Biden made the decision to withdraw from the race and endorse Harris, the campaign has reported that Democrats have raised over $615 million. In contrast, former President Trump’s campaign announced that it raised $160 million in September.

Trump has been successful in building relationships with conservative tech leaders in Silicon Valley. In a recent development, the former president hosted a fundraiser at the residence of investor and “All-In Podcast” co-host David Sacks, which raised an impressive $12 million. Additionally, he has gained the support of Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who also happens to be the owner of the social platform X.

Harris also has strong ties to the tech industry, and her campaign has actively sought support from influential executives in the field. It is worth noting that an increasing number of executives who previously supported Democratic candidates have now aligned themselves with conservative ideologies.

According to a report by The New York Times, the fundraiser was initially disclosed.
