A Trump-supporting business owner in upstate New York has found himself embroiled in a battle with local government officials over a large “Vote for Trump” sign he erected on the roof of his building. The officials have expressed concerns about safety regarding the sign.
The city of Amsterdam, located approximately 35 miles northwest of Albany, has obtained a restraining order against Sticker Mule, a printing company. This order prohibits the illumination of a sign during nighttime, as reported by local NBC affiliate WNYT.
Anthony Constantino, the CEO of Sticker Mule, is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump and has even formed a political action committee in support of the former president.
The lawyers representing President Trump are requesting the opportunity to respond to Jack Smith’s extensive immunity brief. However, they are asking for this opportunity to be granted after the conclusion of the election.
Constantino had no choice but to conceal the sign upon receiving an order from the Montgomery Supreme Court. A hearing has been set for Tuesday.
According to the order obtained by UPI, local authorities argue that the 100-foot-wide sign poses a hazardous distraction, potentially leading to traffic congestion and accidents as people stop to capture photos of the sign.
Additionally, the city claims that the sign violates a city code which stipulates that business signs must be relevant to the business they represent.
Sticker Mule occupies a towering factory building that stands tall amidst the city’s skyline, making its presence unmistakable.
According to WNYT, Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti stated that the sight of the picture was so captivating that it caused people to slow down, pull over, and take photos with their cell phones. The mayor expressed that their main concern was ensuring traffic safety during such instances.
