Caroline Giuliani, the daughter of former New York City mayor and staunch Trump supporter Rudy Giuliani, recently shared her father’s reaction to her endorsement of Kamala Harris.
Giuliani revealed that she has been engaging in open and honest discussions with her father ever since she wrote a column for Vanity Fair, expressing her support for Harris.
“He is well aware of my sentiments on these matters,” she expressed during her appearance on MSNBC’s Alex Witt Reports. “None of this has caught him off guard.
I consistently share with him my deep concerns about our future and the future of our potential grandchildren. The magnitude of fear I experience is something I try to convey to him.”
According to the 35-year-old, her father’s personality remains consistent both in private moments and on television.
“He communicates with me in the same manner as he would address a camera. He has a distinct way of delivering his thoughts and he remains consistent with it. I must admit, it can be quite challenging. It truly is a formidable task.”
People often approach me with questions about the divisive impact of President Trump on families. It’s a topic that resonates with many because the divide caused by his presidency seems insurmountable. Unfortunately, it appears that these rifts won’t easily mend as long as Trump remains in power.
Giuliani expressed her concern about her father’s legal troubles in Arizona, expressing her fear that he may ultimately be incarcerated.
“It’s a challenging concept to ponder,” she expressed. “At present, my attention is fixed on the future of our nation and the kind of role models I desire for my children to admire in the position of the presidency.”
Giuliani maintained her steadfast stance on her father, even though their political views were in direct opposition.
“I genuinely love him and I want him to understand that. However, I’ve been contemplating the implications of having children in today’s world,” she expressed.
“It’s truly terrifying when you consider all the alarming changes happening to our climate and the constant attacks on reproductive rights. As I pondered about the kind of future I want to provide for my children, it became abundantly clear that I needed to spread this message far and wide. I knew that sharing my personal story would be a powerful way to achieve that goal.”
