Wisconsin dairy farmer asserts that Trump administration was far superior to Biden-Harris administration

Dairy farmer Tom Oberhaus from Waukesha County shared his reasons for choosing Trump once again in 2024 and discussed the impact of inflation on the agriculture industry.

Cozy Nook Farm in Waukesha, Wisconsin is known for its expertise in three areas: cows, pumpkins, and Christmas trees. Tom Oberhaus, a dairy farmer, chuckled as he mentioned the diversification on his farm during an interview with Fox News Digital.

According to him, he and his wife have been steadfast supporters of a conservative Republican candidate for the upcoming 2024 election.

According to the speaker, there is a clear distinction between the four years of Trump management and the current three and a half years under Biden’s administration. The speaker poses a question, wondering about the identity of the person running the government at present.

Tom Oberhaus, in an interview with Fox News Digital, expressed his continued support for Trump in the upcoming 2024 election. They had previously cast their votes for Trump in both the 2016 and 2020 elections.

One concern he has regarding Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, is her endorsement of President Biden’s cognitive capacity.

Oberhaus expressed his frustration, stating that he finds it extremely troubling that we are considering electing someone who, only six weeks ago, confidently asserted that Biden was fully in control and effectively handling the situation.

According to him, Biden’s performance in the June debate with former President Trump, before he suspended his campaign, indicated that he is no longer fit for the job.

According to critics, Trump’s policies, such as tariffs and trade conflicts with China, have been detrimental to farmers. However, Oberhaus disagrees, stating that the tariffs implemented in 2018 did not have a negative impact on their industry.

According to Oberhaus, inflation has been a major challenge for Cozy Nook Farm. He expressed, “We have been greatly impacted by inflation.”

He clarified that they don’t determine their own prices and tend to be a few years behind everyone else.

Farmers are currently facing the challenge of paying double the amount for various expenses such as tires, fuel, and feed. This increase in costs has put a burden on their finances. Despite this, the price they receive for their milk has remained stagnant for a while, only recently seeing a slight increase.

He emphasized that illegal immigration was a major concern for him, even in regions far away from the southern border. He pointed out that the issue was becoming apparent even in places as far north as Wisconsin.

“There’s a small town called Whitewater, just 35 minutes away,” he mentioned. “It has a population of around 15,000 people, and recently, they have welcomed about a thousand new immigrants.”

According to local Wisconsin reports, Whitewater Police Chief Daniel Meyer and City Manager John Weidl wrote a letter to Biden last year, seeking assistance due to a significant surge in immigration. They highlighted that the number of immigrants had rapidly increased from around 800 to 1,000 since 2022.

The letter reportedly stated that as a municipal government, the primary focus is not on legal status, but rather on providing the expected resources to all residents of the City. However, there is an increasing difficulty in fulfilling this responsibility.

National Guard troops are overseeing a group of over 1,000 immigrants who made their way across the Rio Grande overnight from Mexico on December 18, 2023, in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Oberhaus inquired, “How do you manage that?” He dismissed the notion that strict immigration enforcement would lead to a shortage of farm workers, labeling it as “baloney.”

According to him, there were ample individuals available to carry out the agricultural tasks on the farm.

According to the farmer, Trump’s recent visit to the Democratic strongholds of Dane and Milwaukee counties in Wisconsin showcases his leadership qualities. The farmer believes that a true leader is not afraid to engage with individuals from opposing camps and share their ideas.
