There is a brewing conflict in upstate New York involving a business owner who supports Trump and has put up a massive “Vote for Trump” sign on the roof of his building. Local government officials are now expressing concerns about safety in this matter.
The city of Amsterdam, located approximately 35 miles northwest of Albany, has recently obtained a restraining order against Sticker Mule, a printing company. This order prohibits the illumination of a sign during nighttime.
According to local NBC affiliate WNYT, Anthony Constantino, the CEO of Sticker Mule, is a fervent supporter of Donald Trump. In fact, Constantino has even formed a political action committee in support of the former president.
Trump lawyers are demanding an “equal opportunity” to respond to Jack Smith’s extensive immunity brief. However, they are requesting this opportunity after the election has taken place.
Constantino had no choice but to conceal the sign following an order issued by the Montgomery Supreme Court. A hearing is set for Tuesday to address the matter.
According to local authorities, the 100-foot-wide sign is deemed a “hazardous distraction” that may lead to traffic congestion or accidents due to individuals stopping to capture photos of the sign.
The order obtained by UPI stated that the city claims the sign violates city code, which stipulates that business signs should pertain to the business itself.
Sticker Mule’s presence is instantly recognizable in the city’s skyline, thanks to its towering factory building. This multi-story structure proudly displays the company’s name, making it a prominent landmark in the area.
Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti expressed his concern over the growing number of people stopping on the side of the road to take pictures. He emphasized that their main worry was ensuring traffic safety in such situations.
