According to the New York Post, law enforcement disclosed that the Hudson River was the site where the body was found. Specifically, it was discovered at the closed Boat Basin marina near West 79th Street and Riverside Drive during the early hours of September 30th.
Harbor Patrol officers were observed retrieving the lifeless individual onto a 45′ police boat. Subsequently, they navigated the boat into the marina and carefully transferred the body onto one of the floating docks. Emergency Service Unit officers then enveloped it in a body bag before transporting it to the New York City medical examiner’s office.
A male body was discovered in the Hudson River, according to an NYPD spokesman. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Another Body Was Discovered in the Hudson River Earlier This Year
In May, the police and fire departments of the City of Poughkeepsie made a grim discovery in the Hudson River – a body was found.
According to the Mid Hudson News, the body was discovered shortly after 5 p.m. on May 4th. Poughkeepsie firefighters promptly dispatched a boat to retrieve the body and safely brought it back to the shore.
The New York State Police have officially identified the deceased as 43-year-old Nicolaus Faust. He was a National Guard Sergeant who went missing after attending a social gathering in Poughkeepsie in late March. This tragic news was confirmed by a close friend of Faust.
A devastated friend disclosed that the investigators, who kept in touch with us frequently, had hinted that it was Nick responsible for the incident. However, they insisted that we wait for the official confirmation from the ME’s Office before jumping to conclusions. This news has left us shattered.
Faust had resided in Marlboro in Ulster County and Peekskill in Westchester County, according to the reports. He had attended a friend’s party on Mill Street in Poughkeepsie and was last seen at 2:00 a.m. that night. Following his disappearance, his friends promptly filed a missing person’s report with the local authorities.
The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office was responsible for examining Faust’s body to determine the official cause of death.
