Florida Utility Workers Receive Free Hotel Rooms from Trump for Hurricane Milton

The Trump family has generously extended an invitation to 275 linemen from Florida Power and Light (FPL) to stay at their luxurious Doral Miami resort as they gear up for the impending Hurricane Milton.

The Doral Miami Resort, also known as Trump National Doral Miami, is a luxurious resort and golf club situated in Doral, Florida, near the vibrant city of Miami. Fortunately, Miami is expected to escape the worst of Hurricane Milton’s impact, as it lies south of the projected storm path. However, authorities have advised residents living in mobile homes to evacuate as a precautionary measure.

Eric Trump, the son of former President Donald Trump, took to social media platform Twitter to share a heartwarming video. The video showcased the linemen receiving their room assignments.

Eric expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the 275 linemen from FPL who were staying at Trump Doral in preparation for their response to the aftermath of Hurricane #Milton.

He commended their incredible work and emphasized that the Trump Family, as well as the entire state of Florida, valued their efforts. Eric also wished them safety and urged them to enjoy their accommodations, highlighting that the rooms at Trump Doral were considered the best in Florida.

Florida Power & Light (FPL) is a prominent electric utility company in the United States, catering to a vast customer base in Florida. Notably, the company plays a pivotal role in restoring power during critical situations like hurricanes and severe storms. Additionally, FPL actively participates in various community initiatives, further showcasing their dedication to the local communities they serve.

Florida Power and Light has been contacted by Newsweek regarding the accommodations, but they have not yet responded.

FPL spokesperson Kamrel Eppinger reassured that the company is fully equipped to handle any challenges that may arise from Hurricane Milton in Florida.

According to Eppinger, safety remains the utmost concern at FPL, and customers are strongly encouraged to prioritize safety. He emphasized the severity of the hurricane, warning of potential consequences such as extensive flooding, heavy rainfall, damaging winds, and storm surges. These conditions could pose significant obstacles to the restoration process and may result in widespread and prolonged power outages.

The spokesperson emphasized the importance of keeping several safety tips in mind when using a generator. It is crucial to follow the guidelines provided in the manual and ensure that the generator is placed outside, away from windows and the home.

President Joe Biden recently addressed the upcoming arrival of Milton, emphasizing that leaders within his administration are actively preparing for the storm.

He announced his approval of an emergency declaration for Florida and dispatched search and rescue teams to the region. In addition, he ensured the provision of crucial supplies such as water, food, power generators, and ambulances.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have followed the local guidance and evacuated before Hurricane Milton’s arrival,” stated President Biden. “I strongly urge everyone in the path of the hurricane to prioritize their safety and comply with all necessary precautions in the coming 24 hours. It is crucial, as it can be a matter of life or death.”
