Speaker Johnson Boldly Asserts Expectation of Election Fraud, Accuses Non-Citizens of Voting

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) expressed his belief on Sunday that there will be instances of cheating in the 2024 Election. He specifically mentioned his concern about non-citizens participating in the voting process.

During an interview with Margaret Brennan on CBS’ Face the Nation Sunday, the Speaker expressed his belief that this year’s vote will be marred by fraud.

Johnson was challenged by Brennan.

During the interview, Brennan pointed out the contradictory statements made by the Speaker regarding the integrity of state elections. She respectfully highlighted the fact that while the Speaker acknowledged the measures taken by states to protect the integrity of the election, he also seemed to undermine confidence in these very same elections.

Johnson responded to Margaret’s statement, asserting that it is not him who is undermining the situation, but rather the actions of the Biden-Harris administration and certain states. He emphasized that federal law prohibits non-citizens from voting, and many states have implemented measures to enforce this.

Johnson highlighted the SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship before registering to vote, but it was blocked by Chuck Schumer and the Democrats in the Senate. He expressed that this could have addressed the concerns people have regarding non-citizens voting, but the Democrats chose not to support it.

Johnson also mentioned the open border policy, which some believe was intended to allow non-citizens to vote. These are real concerns that people have, even though Johnson wishes they were not true.

According to Brennan, it is already a law that non-citizens are prohibited from voting in federal elections.

Johnson affirmed that although it is a law, it is crucial to ensure its proper enforcement. He emphasized the significance of adhering to the law, especially in cases where the outcomes of elections are determined by a few hundred or thousand votes.

Johnson expressed concern about the potential participation of non-citizens in elections, particularly in states where there are no mechanisms in place to prevent it.

He highlighted the issue of ballot harvesting in California, which is notorious for enabling fraud. Furthermore, he mentioned the installation of unmanned ballot boxes in public parks in certain counties in Wisconsin, which raises further concerns.

Brennan pointed out a contradiction in Mr. Speaker’s statement, saying, “You seem to be contradicting yourself. The states are managed by their respective state governments, not the federal government. So, if you have an issue with specific governors, shouldn’t you be addressing them directly?”

“We have indeed been diligent in our efforts,” Johnson asserted. “The Republican governors have demonstrated commendable dedication, conducting their own audits of the voter rolls to ensure a free, fair, and lawful election.

We urge all governors, regardless of party affiliation, and state legislatures under Democratic leadership to follow suit and prioritize this crucial task. Significant progress has been made since 2020, yet some uncertainties persist.

Therefore, at the congressional level, our focus has been on promoting voter integrity measures and advocating for their implementation in every state. As you rightly pointed out, elections are primarily managed by individual states.”

Johnson responded to Margaret, acknowledging that they have been dealing with this issue for almost four years, starting from the 2020 debacle. He highlighted the exceptional work done by Republican-led states and governors, while also pointing out that some Democrats have not prioritized it as much.

This has led to controversy and concern. However, Johnson firmly believes that despite these challenges, the upcoming election will be fair and transparent. He expressed his hope and prayer for a free and legal election, a sentiment shared by every member of Congress.
