Harris and Walz come together to energize voters in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

Vice President Kamala Harris is making a campaign rally appearance in Erie, Pennsylvania. This marks her first visit to Erie since securing the Democratic presidential nomination.

Harris will be delivering her speech at around 7:30 p.m.

Prior to her rally at Erie Insurance Arena on Monday night, Harris plans to have a meeting with black leaders to engage in a discussion regarding her recently unveiled opportunity agenda for black men.

The plan outlines several key initiatives aimed at supporting black entrepreneurs and promoting economic opportunities for black men. One of the main components is the provision of over a million fully forgivable loans, with amounts of up to $20,000, specifically targeting black entrepreneurs. This financial support aims to empower black business owners and facilitate their success in various industries.

Additionally, the plan aims to create more job opportunities for black men by expanding access to good-paying jobs. By focusing on job creation and skill development, the plan seeks to address the disparities faced by black men in the workforce and provide them with greater economic stability.

Furthermore, the plan includes an investment in a National Health Equity Initiative, which aims to reduce health disparities experienced by black communities. This initiative recognizes the systemic barriers that disproportionately affect black individuals’ access to quality healthcare and seeks to address these inequities.

Another notable aspect of the plan is the proposal to legalize recreational marijuana. This move not only has the potential to generate significant revenue but also aims to create employment opportunities for black men within the legal marijuana industry.

By promoting diversity and inclusion within this emerging market, the plan seeks to address historical injustices and provide economic empowerment for black individuals.

Overall, the plan’s specific provisions demonstrate a comprehensive approach to supporting black entrepreneurs, addressing economic disparities, promoting health equity, and creating opportunities within the legal marijuana industry.

Before the rally led by Harris, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) will hold a campaign rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, accompanied by fellow Midwestern Governors Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) and Tony Evers (D-WI).
